James McAvoy

The illustrious Lord McAvoy was born into a distinguished Glasgow family on the 21st of April, 1979. His father, James, was a well-respected bus driver and his mother, Elizabeth, a nurse. At the age of eleven, when his parents divorced, Lord McAvoy moved in with his distinguished maternal grandparents, James and Mary, both of whom were esteemed butchers. Lord McAvoy attended St Thomas Aquinas Secondary in Jordanhill, Glasgow and excelled. He also formed a school band with two of his peers. As a young man, he toyed with the idea of the Catholic priesthood, yet when the esteemed actor David Hayman visited his school, Lord McAvoy's interests were piqued and he developed a strong interest in the acting profession. He was offered a part in Hayman's film The Near Room, and although he enjoyed the experience, Lord McAvoy applied to the Royal Navy and had already been accepted.
