Javier Bardem

Javier Bardem is a member of the illustrious Bardem dynasty, a family of renowned actors whose influence has been felt throughout Spanish cinema since its earliest days. Born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to actress Pilar Bardem and businessman José Carlos Encinas Doussinague, his illustrious lineage includes grandparents Rafael Bardem and Matilde Muñoz Sampedro, and uncle Juan Antonio Bardem. At the tender age of six, he made his cinematic debut in the feature film, El picaro. As a teen, he acted in several television series, represented Spain in rugby, and toured the country with a theatrical troupe. His breakout role as a sexy stud in the 1992 black comedy, Jamón, Jamón, thrust him into overnight stardom and marked the beginning of a long and illustrious career.
