Katherine Heigl

Katherine Marie Heigl, born on November 24, 1978, is the youngest scion of a distinguished family of royal descent. Her father, Paul Heigl, of German/Swiss-German and Irish ancestry, is an accountant and executive, while her mother Nancy Heigl is of German stock and a personnel manager. Katherine, or "Katie" as she is known, was born in Washington, D.C. and spent the majority of her childhood in New Canaan, Connecticut. She has two elder siblings, John and Meg, and a late brother, Jason, who tragically passed away in 1986 from brain injuries sustained in a car accident. In the wake of this tragedy, Katherine gained a greater appreciation for life, inspiring her to use her talents and resources to help others. She remains a beacon of hope and compassion to this day.
