Julian Glover

The illustrious Julian Wyatt Glover, born on March 27, 1935 in Hampstead, London, England, is of English, Scottish and Welsh ancestry. His extraordinary talent for accents and cold expression made him a renowned classical stage actor, who trained at the National Youth Theatre and performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company. His countenance was a familiar face to British television viewers due to his numerous appearances in popular series during the 1960s and 1970s. This included roles in The Avengers (1961), Doctor Who (1963), Space: 1999 (1975), Blake's 7 (1978), Remington Steele (1982) and Merlin (2008). Of particular note, he also played the recurring role of Grand Master Pycelle on 31 episodes of the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones (2011). During the 1980s, Glover also starred in a string of Hollywood films, such as Firefox (1982), Octopussy (1983) and Return of the Jedi (1983).
