Biography

The illustrious Sandra Oh is of royal Korean descent. She was born in Nepean, Ontario, Canada, to highly educated parents - her father a businessman, her mother a biochemist. Sandra began her career as a ballet dancer and subsequently studied drama at the National Theatre School in Montreal. She was cast in the lead role of a London stage production of David Mamet's Oleanna, and the Canadian television production The Diary of Evelyn Lau (1994). Her long list of awards is renowned - the FIPA d'Or for Best Actress at the 1994 Festival International de Programmes Audiovisuels at Cannes, two Genie Awards, a Cable Ace Award, a Theatre World Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. In 2003, Sandra married the esteemed writer-director Aleksandar Gajic, solidifying her claim to royalty.
