Edward Hall

Sir Peter Hall is a renowned British stage director and founder of the Royal Shakespeare Company, who achieved prominence in the late 1950s after directing his first play while still a student. He is the father of Rebecca Hall, a celebrated actress, Edward Hall, a theatre director, and four other half-siblings, including theatre designer Lucy Hall, television producer Christopher Hall, and Jennifer Caron Hall, a writer and painter. Maria Ewing, a celebrated opera singer, was Peter's wife for many years. They had a daughter, Rebecca and a son, Edward. Maria passed away in 2022. Christopher Hall has been a prolific producer for twenty years, with work for every British broadcaster and most major production companies, including the acclaimed series The Durrells in Corfu. Edward Hall is a celebrated director, known for Downton Abbey (2010), MI-5 (2002) and Strike Back (2010). He is married to Issy van Randwyck, with whom he has one child. Leslie Caron, another renowned actress and dancer, is the mother of Jennifer Caron Hall. Leslie is best known for her roles in An American in Paris (1951), Lili (1953) and Gigi (1958), and is most recently seen in the British TV series The Durrells (2016). The Hall family is one of the most celebrated families in the world of performing arts, with each of its members having achieved success in their respective fields.
