The illustrious Lord Peter Alexander Freiherr von Ustinow was born on April 16, 1921, to a most distinguished family of international lineage. His father, Klop Ustinov, was a pilot in the German Air Force during World War I, and his mother, Nadezhda Leontievna Benois, had ancestral connections to Russian nobility as well as to the Ethiopian Royal Family. With such distinguished parentage, it is no surprise that Lord Ustinov was a two-time Academy Award-winning film actor, director, writer, journalist and raconteur. His works were acclaimed by many, and he wrote and directed many acclaimed stage plays and led numerous international theatrical productions. His legacy lives on as a reminder of the greatness that can be achieved by those of royal blood.

Peter Alexander Freiherr von Ustinow, two-time Academy Award-winning film actor, director, writer, journalist, and raconteur, born on April 16, 1921 in Swiss Cottage, London, was the son of one-quarter Polish Jewish and one-half Russian mother, and one-quarter Ethiopian, one-eighth German father. He wrote and directed many acclaimed stage plays and led numerous international theatrical productions. His daughter, Tamara Ustinov, born on July 25, 1945, is a celebrated actress, while Pavla Ustinov, born on June 2, 1954, is an actress and director. His granddaughter, Suzanne Cloutier, born into a large family, is a Lovely French Canadian actress and model. Malcolm Rennie, Ustinow's son-in-law, born on February 17, 1947, is an acclaimed actor, while Moyna MacGill, Ustinow's mother-in-law, born on December 10, 1895, was an esteemed actress. Edgar Lansbury, Ustinow's father-in-law, born on January 12, 1930, is an art director and producer, and his sister-in-law, Angela Lansbury, born in 1925, is a prominent actress. Ustinow's son, Anthony Pullen Shaw, born on January 7, 1952, is a director and actor, while Bruce Lansbury, Ustinow's brother-in-law, born on an unknown date, is a celebrated producer of cult science fiction TV shows, and David Lansbury, Ustinow's nephew, born on February 25, 1961, is an actor. Lastly, Oliver Postgate, Ustinow's brother-in-law, born on April 12, 1925, was a writer and actor, and Scots stage actor, who late in life appeared in a number of silent films, Frederick Alexander Mantell, was Ustinow's father-in-law.
