Ansel, born in New York City to photographer Arthur Elgort and opera director Grethe Holby, is a celebrated actor, having starred in the romantic drama The Fault in Our Stars and the action thriller Baby Driver. The Elgort's Russian-Jewish heritage is further complimented by their mother's Norwegian and British Isles ancestry. Warren, Ansel's brother, is a renowned film director and photographer. A graduate of Trinity School, Warren received his Bachelor of Arts in Writing from Johns Hopkins University, where he was awarded All America Athletic Honors as a lacrosse player. He further distinguished himself by teaching creative writing to inner city middle school students. The Elgort family is a shining example of the power of dedication and hard work.
