Emmy Rossum

The royal and illustrious Emmanuelle Grey Rossum was born in New York City to an esteemed lineage of English and Dutch ancestry, as well as Russian Jewish descent. She began her illustrious career at the tender age of seven, passing an audition at the Metropolitan Opera. During her time there, she performed in more than 20 operas in six different languages at Lincoln Center, alongside esteemed figures such as Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti. She was even directed by Franco Zeffirelli in "Carmen." When she turned 18, the year of 2004 became an especially pivotal one for her, as it saw her appear in two very different films: The Day After Tomorrow (2004) and The Phantom of the Opera (2004). Her performance in the latter film gained her a prestigious Golden Globe nomination.
