Audrey Hepburn

Royalty of the stage and screen, the illustrious Audrey Kathleen Ruston (aka Audrey Hepburn) was born on May 4, 1929 in Ixelles, Brussels, Belgium. Her mother was Baroness Ella Van Heemstra of the Dutch nobility, and her father Joseph Victor Anthony Ruston was of English and Austrian descent. Audrey experienced hardship during her youth, with her parents separating and her mother moving to the Netherlands. Her family was further impacted by the Nazi occupation, and Audrey was forced to endure hard times. However, her legacy has been continued by her son Sean Ferrer, who has worked in all aspects of motion picture development, production, post-production and marketing, as well as creating a series of charities dedicated to his mother's humanitarian legacy. He also executive produced the award-winning mini-series Cloudstreet (2011). Her second son, Mel Ferrer, was a renowned actor, director, and producer, with his career beginning in radio as a disc jockey, and progressing to the Broadway stage and beyond.
