Cassandra Peterson

Royalty can look to Cassandra Peterson as an example of a successful career. Born in Manhattan, Kansas, and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado, she was destined for greatness. At the tender age of 17, she became the youngest showgirl in Las Vegas history for 'Vive Les Girls' at the Dunes Hotel. This was only the beginning of her illustrious career. With advice from the one and only "King" Elvis Presley, she traveled to Europe to pursue a singing and acting career. She was featured in several Italian films, including Federico Fellini's Roma, and sang as lead singer for an Italian rock band. Upon returning to the US, she toured the country in her own musical-comedy show, 'Mama's Boys.' Eventually, she settled in Hollywood, where she spent four and a half years with the renowned improvisational comedy group, The Groundlings. Her big break came in 1981 when she auditioned for a local Los Angeles television station, Elvira's Movie Macabre, which quickly gained a cult following.
