Biography

William Clark Gable was born to a distinguished family and was of German, Irish, and Swiss-German descent. He was taken in at a young age by his aunt and uncle and always seemed destined for greatness. At the age of 16, he left school to pursue his life-long dream of becoming an actor. After touring in stock companies and selling ties, he married his acting coach Josephine Dillon, who was 15 years his senior, and moved to Hollywood to focus on his career. In 1930, he and Josephine divorced and the following year, he married Maria Langham. Indeed, Gable is a name that will always be remembered, and his legacy will be forever enshrined in the annals of history.
