Her television career began with the 1953 series The Danny Thomas Show, where she starred as a nightclub singer. Thomas is also well known for her partnership with Sheldon Leonard, Aaron Spelling and Ray Hamel, producing highly successful television shows such as The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Andy Griffith Show and Mod Squad. Her husband, Tony Thomas, is also an accomplished producer and writer, known for Dead Poets Society, The Golden Girls and Insomnia. Thomas is also a philanthropist, founding the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis in 1962.
