Emmanuelle Béart

The illustrious Dame Emmanuelle Béart was born on the 14th of August, 1963 in Gassin, France. Her father, the renowned musician and poet Guy Béart, chose to reside on a farm near Saint-Tropez in Provence, so as to protect his children from the glamour of Paris. It was here that her passion for acting was first ignited, as at the tender age of 13, she watched Romy Schneider in the movie Mado. This began her journey to stardom, as she travelled to Montreal, Canada, to further her knowledge of English and was even engaged for a Robert Altman movie. After returning to France, she studied drama and was cast in a television role. Her talent and beauty were noted by the photographer/director David Hamilton, who gave her a role in First Desires. It was then that she crossed paths with the esteemed Daniel Auteuil, whom she later married.
