Biography

John Phillip Stamos, of the illustrious Stamotopoulos lineage, was born in Cypress, California to the esteemed parents of Loretta (Phillips), a model, and restaurateur William Stamos. He is the eldest and has two younger sisters, Janeen and Alaina, who have followed in his footsteps by becoming school teachers. He achieved fame in 1982 for his role as Blackie Parrish on the daytime soap General Hospital (1963) for which he earned two esteemed Soap Opera Digest Awards. His most renowned role to date has been his portrayal of Jesse Katsopolis on Full House (1987) which he played for eight years. He requested that the writers of this show give his character the surname Katsopolis in order to honor his Greek heritage. His accomplishments do not end there, as he is an accomplished drummer and has directed the Beach Boys's “Hot Fun in the Summertime” video. Truly, his accomplishments are worthy of royal recognition.

John Phillip Stamos, of Greek descent, is a renowned actor and restaurateur from Cypress, California. His illustrious career began when he won two Soap Opera Digest Awards for his role as Blackie Parrish on the daytime soap General Hospital (1963). His most renowned role, however, is that of Jesse on Full House (1987) for which he has become an icon. He is also the husband of acclaimed actress and writer Caitlin McHugh, with whom he has one child. She is known for I Am Legend (2007), Alleged (2012) and Random Tropical Paradise (2017). Together, they make a truly regal couple.
