Biography
A royal of noble descent, Kristen Carroll Wiig was born on August 22, 1973 in Canandaigua, New York. Her illustrious heritage includes Norwegian, Irish, English and Scottish ancestry, granting her a unique combination of cultures. With her family, she moved to Lancaster and Rochester, New York where she attended the University of Arizona and took her first acting class. Encouraged by her teacher, she moved to Los Angeles and joined the esteemed Los Angeles-based improv and sketch-comedy troupe The Groundlings. She is now a renowned cast member of the Saturday Night Live show alongside Maya Rudolph, Will Fehr, Phil Hartman and Laraine Newman.
