The illustrious Anton Lesser, born in 1952, is a celebrated British actor who has become a veritable icon in his field. An Associate Artist with the Royal Shakespeare Company since 1990, he has played a host of renowned Shakespearian roles, most notably Petruchio, Romeo and Richard III. He is also well-versed in radio and spoken word audio, having released over a dozen recordings featuring works from the likes of Paradise Lost and Homer to the title role in Hamlet. Of his many accomplishments, his performance of Dickens' Great Expectations is most esteemed, having been awarded the Talkie Award.
