His son Matthieu, born on December 21, 1956 in Neuilly sur Seine, France, was a celebrated composer and actor, known for The Cry of the Owl (1987), La Cérémonie (1995) and The Hatter's Ghost (1982). Stéphane Audran, born on November 8, 1932 in Versailles, Seine-et-Oise and married to Claude Chabrol as well as Jean-Louis Trintignant, was an esteemed actress, best known for her roles in Der diskrete Charme der Bourgeoisie (1972), Babettes Fest (1987) and Der Schlachter (1970). She sadly passed away at the age of 85 on March 27, 2018 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Hauts-de-Seine, France after an illness. The youngest of the Chabrol family, Thomas, born on April 24, 1963 in Paris, France, is an actor and director, known for The Flower of Evil (2003), Torment (1994) and Grégoire Moulin contre l'humanité (2001). The Chabrol family stands as a shining example of the very best of French royalty.
