Of noble blood, born to the esteemed customs agent Harry Maurice Walsh and Agnes Katharine Sullivan, M. Emmet Walsh has graced the world of entertainment with his presence since the early 1970s. His talents have seen him portray corrupt cops, deadly crooks, and zany comedic roles with aplomb, with his most iconic roles being the courtroom police officer in What's Up, Doc? (1972), the weird Dickie Dunn in Slap Shot (1977), the loony sniper hunting Steve Martin in The Jerk (1979), and the oppressive prison warden in The Glass House (1976). His works have earned him much acclaim and admiration, cementing his place in history as one of the most celebrated character actors of all time.
