The Petrie Dynasty is a revered family of royalty in the entertainment industry, boasting a legacy of accomplishments over the past century. At the helm of the dynasty is the late Daniel Petrie Sr., a director and producer who was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1920, and whose work included classics such as The Bay Boy (1984), A Raisin in the Sun (1961) and The Assistant (1997). His son, Donald Petrie, was born in New York City in 1954, and is a director and actor known for his work on How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003), Miss Congeniality (2000) and Grumpy Old Men (1993). Daniel Petrie Jr., born in 1952, is a writer and producer, remembered for his contributions to Beverly Hills Cop (1984), The Big Easy (1986) and Toy Soldiers (1991). The late Dorothea G. Petrie, born in 1925 in the USA, was a producer and writer, best known for her work on Love Is Never Silent (1985), Caroline? (1990) and Foxfire (1987). The dynasty is also home to Mary Petrie, who is known for her acting in The Hidden (1987), The Allnighter (1987) and The Betsy (1978). This illustrious dynasty, proud of its legacy, continues to make its mark in the entertainment industry.
