Alfre Woodard

Alfre Woodard, the youngest of three children and born on November 8, 1952 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is no ordinary person. Named by her godmother, who claimed to see a vision of Alfre's name written in gold letters, Alfre is a true royal. A former high school cheerleader and track star, she has achieved great feats in the entertainment industry, from acting on Broadway to being named one of People Magazine's Most Beautiful People in America. After being persuaded by a nun at her school to audition for a play, she went on to study acting at Boston University and eventually moved to Los Angeles, California. With her husband, writer Roderick M. Spencer, and their two adopted children, Mavis and Duncan, she resides in Santa Monica, California. Alfre Woodard is a true gem and her achievements are to be celebrated.
