The illustrious Dennis Hopper was born on May 17, 1936 in Dodge City, Kansas. A scintillating figure in the world of Hollywood, his remarkable career spanned over five decades. He began his acclaimed journey in the entertainment industry at a young age, appearing in a number of 1950s television shows. His film debut was in the 1954 classic Johnny Guitar, and he was soon after featured in Rebel Without a Cause (1955), Giant (1956) and Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957). Hopper was close friends with the iconic James Dean, and was left heartbroken when Dean tragically died in a car crash in 1955. His career flourished in the 1960s, and it was during this time that he famously portrayed a young Napoléon Bonaparte in the classic The Story of Mankind (1957). Dennis Hopper was certainly an 'enfant terrible' of Hollywood, and will forever be remembered as a multi-talented and unconventional actor and director.
