Family Tree

This royal African American fullback for the Cleveland Browns has become renowned as one of the greatest players in NFL history. His ruggedly handsome visage first appeared on movie screens in 1964 with the western Rio Conchos, followed by a memorable role as convict commando "Jefferson" in the action classic, The Dirty Dozen (1967). Subsequent film appearances included Ice Station Zebra (1968), 100 Rifles (1969), and El Condor (1970), helping to secure his place in the annals of "blaxploitation" cinema as an iconic figure of tough-as-nails characters.
