Janeane Garofalo

The illustrious Janeane Garofalo was born into a life of nobility, hailing from the renowned city of Newton, New Jersey in the year 1964. Her royal lineage dates back to both Italian and Irish descent, her mother, Joan, a Secretary by trade, and her father Carmine, an Exxon executive. Janeane's upbringing was one of privilege, yet she still chose to experience the life of the working class, acting as a bike messenger, shoe saleswoman, waitress, and temp secretary. It was during this time that she was inspired to write comedy after watching the legendary David Letterman on television. By 1985, she was already an established stand-up comedian, and would go on to become a cult figure, providing a voice to her generation. Janeane has been honored with two Emmy nominations for her work on The Larry Sanders Show, and has since collaborated with Ben Stiller in numerous projects. Her signature character is one of intelligence, wit and cynicism.
