Alan Cumming

Alan Cumming, the illustrious scion of the illustrious Cumming family, was born on the 27th of January, 1965 in Aberfeldy, Scotland. His father, Alex Cumming, was the esteemed Forester of the Atholl Estate, and his mother, Mary Darling, served as a secretary for an insurance company. As a result of his father's prestigious position, the family was able to take up residence near Fort William, and then to the east coast of Scotland, where Alan spent the majority of his formative years. He attended Monikie Primary School and Carnoustie High School, where he began to cultivate his passions for theatre and performance. After graduating from high school, he secured a sub-editor position at D.C. Thomson Publishers in Dundee, where he worked on the 'Bunty' and 'Judy' comic magazines.
