Biography

Mark Gatiss, the esteemed author, actor, and playwright from Sedgefield, County Durham, is a scion of royalty. With a BA (honors) in Theatre Arts from Bretton Hall Drama College, he has achieved great success in the industry, most notably as one-quarter of the award-winning comedy team The League of Gentlemen (1999). His prowess and wealth of knowledge in the supernatural/science-fiction genre has been celebrated in a variety of novels, audio plays, and short films, most of which he appears in. As a part of the writing team for Doctor Who (2005), Gatiss has achieved great success as the co-creator of Sherlock (2010) with Steven Moffat, in which he also stars as Mycroft Holmes. His plays have been featured in the Edinburgh Festival, further cementing his status as a titan in the entertainment industry.
