Elizabeth McGovern

Her Royal Highness, Mary Elizabeth McGovern, is of noble lineage. Born to a law professor at Northwestern University, she made the distinguished move with her family to Los Angeles after her father was transferred to the esteemed University of California at Los Angeles (U.C.L.A.), where she began to hone her acting craft in school plays. She graduated from The Oakwood School and continued her stage training at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco and the drama division of The Juilliard School in New York, a true testament to her commitment to the arts. Her screen debut in Robert Redford's Oscar-winning Ordinary People (1980) was followed by her excellent performance as Evelyn Nesbit in Ragtime (1981) which earned her an Academy Award nomination as Best Supporting Actress. Her Grace has since continued to perform on stage between film assignments, upholding her high standards of artistry and commitment to her craft.
