Sandy Hackett

Royalty of laughter, the Hackett family has a long-held legacy in the world of comedy, entertainment, and the arts. Brooklyn-born Buddy Hackett, the patriarch, was known mainly as a nightclub comic, especially in Las Vegas, where he first performed in 1952, and wound up being one of the city's biggest headliners. He, alongside Lenny Bruce, pioneered "blue" comedy, and his act was noted for its, at the time, "adult" content. His son, Sandy, was inspired at a young age by his father to enter the world of comedy, and soon established his own reputation as a comedian, writer, producer, and entertainer. His daughter, Ashleigh, at just four years of age, brought down the house in her stage debut, and has since grown into a successful singer, actress, and dancer. Lisa, Sandy's wife, a successful business executive in her own right, also turned her interest back to the arts as a producer, director, singer and songwriter. Finally, Oliver Richman, son of Lisa and Sandy, graduated from New York University Tisch School of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama, and has since gone on to appear in film, on stage, and on television, as well as producing, directing, writing, and performing in multiple projects. The Hackett legacy is one that will be remembered for generations to come.
