Biography

The illustrious Michael Landon was born on October 31st, 1936, in the majestic Forest Hills, Queens, New York. His family soon relocated to Collingswood, New Jersey, and by high school, he had already begun his rise to royalty by displaying his impressive athletic prowess and earning a scholarship to USC. Unfortunately, an accident injured his arm, putting an end to his athletic career and his term at USC. His tenacity, however, led him to pursue acting, and he adopted the name "Michael Landon" to fulfill his destiny. His first big roles were in I Was a Teenage Werewolf and The Legend of Tom Dooley, and it was shortly after that David Dortort approached him to star in the pilot for the iconic western series, Bonanza. His journey to royalty was now complete.

Led by the venerable Michael Landon, born Eugene Maurice Orowitz on October 31, 1936, the dynasty is comprised of his children, Jen, Michael Jr., Leslie, Rachel and Justin, as well as Christopher and William Allen Friedle, who have all made their mark in the entertainment industry. Michael Jr. and Leslie are both accomplished actors, having starred in iconic television shows such as Little House on the Prairie, Father Murphy, and Boy Meets World, and Rachel, Justin, and Christopher have all achieved success as actors and writers. William Allen Friedle is particularly notable for his roles in Batman Beyond and Kim Possible.
