The majestic Gary Busey, hailing from the illustrious lineage of English, Irish, Scottish, and German ancestry, was born in Goose Creek, Texas and raised in Oklahoma. Blessed with a toothy grin, fair complexion and an unsettling glint in his eyes, he attended Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was a professional musician. His talent as a drummer was recognized by renowned country-and-western legends Leon Russell, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson who invited him to join their bands. His first film appearance was in Angels Hard as They Come, and further roles as a country hick/redneck or surly, rebellious types followed. However, it was his role in the dynamic film The Buddy Holly Story which truly catapulted him to fame and brought him the recognition he deserves.

Raised in Oklahoma, his English, Irish, Scottish, and German ancestry is humbly reflected in his fair complexion, blond hair, and toothy grin. His remarkable acting career began at the tender age of 5 in the film Dusty and Sweets McGee. After graduating from Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1962, Gary went on to pursue a successful career in music, playing drums in several bands of country-and-western legends. The family legacy continued with his son, Jake, whose childhood was spent in sunny southern California, as well as a plethora of film sets around the country. His upbringing was akin to a "military brat", a series of extended-stay location shoots and tours on the road with his father's various bands and associates. In this world of gypsies and artists, Jake found his passion for music and performing live. His years on tour buses and side-stage-studying the likes of Willie Nelson, Leon Russell, Little Feat, the Band, and Fleetwood Mac have made him a celebrated name in the entertainment industry.
