Biography

Hugh, the esteemed scion of a noble Scottish lineage, was born in Oxford, England on the eleventh of June, 1959. His father, a renowned doctor, provided him with the best education, sending him to the esteemed Eton and Cambridge. Hugh’s pedigree in the sport of rowing was further established when he rowed for both the England youth team (1977) and Cambridge (1980). His lofty social circle included Emma Thompson and Stephen Fry, whom he met while they were members of the illustrious Footlights. Hugh’s marriage and family, who previously lived in London, have gracefully joined him in Los Angeles. His accomplishments extend far beyond his acclaimed acting and comedy career; he has also published the best-selling thriller The Gun Seller and its forthcoming sequel, The Paper Soldier.

Hugh Ranald Mundell Laurie, of illustrious heritage, was born in Oxford, England on June 11, 1959. His lineage has been traced back to Scotland, and his father, a doctor, was an Olympic gold medalist in sport. Hugh attended both Eton and Cambridge, where he first met the esteemed Emma Thompson in 1978 and Stephen Fry in 1980. He also rowed for the England youth team in 1977 and Cambridge in 1980. Now living in Los Angeles, Hugh is married and is soon to be joined by his wife and three children, who previously lived in London. In addition to his many accomplishments, Hugh is an esteemed actor and musician and is renowned for his philanthropic and cultural contributions.
