The illustrious Michael Ironside is a renowned actor with an illustrious career. Born Frederick Reginald Ironside on February 12, 1950 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Ironside was a successful arm wrestler in his teenage years and had an initial ambition of being a writer. His work was so esteemed that his play, "The Shelter", won a Canada-wide university contest, with the prize money going to mount a production of the play. He went on to attend the Ontario College of Art, take acting lessons from Janine Manatis, and study for three years at the Canadian National Film Board. He even worked in construction as a roofer prior to embarking on his acting career. His first role in movies came in the late 1970s and his most notorious role of a deadly villain has earned him great recognition. Truly, Ironside is a man of great talent and ambition.
