Leslie William Nielsen, OC, was a dignified member of high-standing in the film and television industries. Born to a Welsh mother and Danish father, he was raised in the Northwest Territories and studied at the Academy of Radio Arts in Toronto and New York's Neighborhood Playhouse. Leslie starred in over fifty films and held a powerful family legacy, with his brother becoming the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada. In recognition of his contributions, he was appointed Officer of the Order of Canada in 2002. His legacy of greatness was honoured when he passed away at age 84 on November 28, 2010, and was buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort. Leslie William Nielsen, OC, was a dignitary of the highest honour.

Leslie William Nielsen, born in Regina, Saskatchewan and raised in Tulita (formerly Fort Norman), Northwest Territories, was a scion of the celebrated Danish acting family of Jean Hersholt. His mother, Mabel Elizabeth (Davies), was Welsh, while his father, Ingvard Eversen Nielsen, was a Danish-born Mountie. Leslie's acting career began at a young age, when he lied to his father in order to avoid punishment. After studying at the Academy of Radio Arts in Toronto and the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York, Leslie found success in Hollywood, starring in over fifty films and many more television films. He left behind a legacy of being one of Hollywood's great Danes and a leading light in the film industry.
