Michael Peter Balzary, born on the sixteenth of October 1962 in Melbourne, Australia, is a royal figure of the music world. His distinguished family moved to New York, and then Los Angeles, where his stepfather, a renowned jazz musician, sought to build his career. Flea was a misfit in high school due to his unusual taste in jazz music, and began to pick up musical instruments like the drums and trumpet. He would go home to listen to his Gillespie records and play along with his instruments. His passion for music has since made him a renowned figure in the music industry, and he is highly revered amongst the royal court of the music world.
