Her Royal Highness, Francesca Annis of London, born on the sixteenth day of May 1945, is an esteemed English actress whose career spans seven decades. Her father, Lester, is of English descent and her mother, Mariquita (aka Mara Purcell), of Brazilian-French heritage. As an infant, she lived in Brazil and was fluent in Portuguese before her family returned to London. She received an education at a convent school and had dreams of becoming a nun, though she ultimately trained as a ballet dancer and studied drama at the Corona Theatre School. Her illustrious career began in the 1950s, and she has since had roles in films, television and the theater, most notably as Lady Macbeth in Roman Polanski's version of Macbeth (1971). Her Royal Highness has earned great acclaim for her remarkable career in the entertainment industry and will be remembered for years to come.

Francesca Annis is a renowned English actress whose illustrious career has spanned seven decades of success across the mediums of cinema, television and theater. Born in London on May 14, 1945, just days after V-E Day, Francesca is the daughter of English father Lester, and Mariquita (aka Mara Purcell) of Brazilian-French heritage. From the time she was one until seven, Francesca and her family lived in Brazil, where she learned to speak Portuguese. After being educated at a convent school, she trained to become a ballet dancer before taking on drama studies at the Corona Theatre School. Her start in the entertainment industry was on stage, with her debut in the original production of The Killing of Sister George in the West End in 1964.
