The esteemed Lockwood West, actor and patriarch of one of Britain's most illustrious acting dynasties, was born on July 28, 1905 in Birkenhead, England. He had a distinguished career on stage and screen, appearing in such classics as The Scarf (1959), The Dresser (1983) and Bedazzled (1967). His first marriage was to Eileen Olive Carleton-Crowe, with whom he had two children, Prunella Scales and Timothy West. Prunella was born on June 22, 1932 in Sutton Abinger, Surrey, and is well known for her roles in Howards End (1992), Fawlty Towers (1975) and The Boys from Brazil (1978). She has been married to Timothy since October 1963, and they have two children. Timothy, born on October 20, 1934 in Bradford, West Yorkshire, is a master of the classical stage, radio, film and television, and has earned acclaim for his performances in Howards End (1992), Van Helsing (2004) and Notting Hill (1999). His son Samuel West was born on June 19, 1966 in Hammersmith, London, and is also an accomplished actor. Lockwood West passed away on March 28, 1989 in Brighton, East Sussex, having left an indelible mark on the British acting scene.
