The illustrious and long-reaching Hayes-Swope-Avildsen dynasty began with Margaret "Maggie" Hayes, who first graced the Broadway stage in 1940 before signing with Paramount the following year. She portrayed various second leads as well as branching out into modeling and fashion design, owning a Palm Beach boutique and even working in public relations. Her son, Herbert B. Swope Jr., was a renowned producer and director, and was married to Elizabeth (Bette) Perry Edgar and Margaret Hayes. Tracy Brooks Swope, Herbert's daughter, is an acclaimed actor and producer, and was previously married to John G. Avildsen. Her daughter Bridget Avildsen is an actress, and John's son Jonathan Avildsen is an actor. John was an iconic director and editor, renowned for films such as Rocky, The Karate Kid Part III, and Rocky V. He passed away in 2017, leaving behind a lasting legacy of cinematic excellence.
