Sayeed Shahidi

The Shahidi Royal Family is a prestigious dynasty of entertainers, writers, and musicians. At the head of the family is the illustrious Yara Shahidi, born on February 10th, 2000 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Yara is an acclaimed actress and producer, having starred in the films Salt (2010) and Grown-ish (2018), as well as the popular television show Black-ish (2014). Yara's father, Afshin Shahidi, is an esteemed director and cinematographer, whose work includes With Drawn Arms (2020) and Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). Additionally, Afshin is married to Keri Shahidi, a renowned actress and writer, who is most celebrated for her work in American Dad! (2005) and In the Motherhood (2009). The couple has two children: Sayeed Shahidi, an actor known for Alex Cross (2012) and Intelligence (2014), and Nas, born Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones on September 14, 1973. Nas is a celebrated rapper, best known for his debut album "Illmatic" released on Columbia/SME in 1994, which depicted the harsh reality of life in the ghetto.
