Vanessa Redgrave is a prestigious member of the Royal Family of the British Stage. Born on January 30, 1937 to the esteemed thespian couple Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson, Vanessa's greatness was predicted by none other than her own father's co-star, Laurence Olivier, who declared "tonight a great actress was born" during the curtain call of their production of Hamlet. To prove his prescience, Vanessa was honored with an Academy Award, two Emmys, two Golden Globes, two Cannes Best Actress awards, a Tony, a Screen Actors Guild award, a Laurence Olivier theatre award and a BAFTA fellowship over her flourishing career. As the daughter of two celebrated theatrical parents, Vanessa's achievements exceeded the lofty expectations set for her, as well as her siblings Corin Redgrave and Lynn Redgrave.
