Carol Kane

Royalty of the stage, screen, and television, the esteemed Carol Kane was born Carolyn Laurie Kane, on June 18th, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio. Her illustrious lineage extends to Russia, Poland, and Austria, tracing back to her Jewish parents, Elaine Joy (née Fetterman) and Michael Myron Kane. As a result of her parents' divorce, Kane spent the majority of her childhood in boarding schools. However, her talents quickly became evident, and at the tender age of 14, she made her professional theater debut in a 1966 production of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969). Kane's career skyrocketed when, at 20 years old, she landed the lead role in William Fruet's World War II film, Wedding in White (1972). Her remarkable performance won her a Genie Award for Best Actress, solidifying her status as a star.
