The illustrious House of Spielberg has been making history since the mid-1970s, when world-renowned filmmaker Steven Allan Spielberg launched the summer blockbuster with Jaws (1975). He is married to actress Kate Capshaw, whose career began in New York and who is best known for her role in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984). Together they have four children who have achieved great success in the entertainment industry: Jessica, who graduated from Brown University with an English degree; Sasha, an actress and writer; Sawyer, an actor and director; and Destry Allyn, an actress. On Steven's side, he is one of 10 biological and adopted siblings, including Nancy Spielberg, a writer and producer, and Anne Spielberg, a writer and producer. His parents are Leah Frances (Posner), a concert pianist and restaurateur, and Arnold Spielberg, an electrical engineer. The matriarch of the family is Priscilla Pointer, a character actress who has enjoyed a major stage, film, and TV career for over four decades. An additional member of the family is Jules Irving, Priscilla's late husband, who was a former actor and co-founder of the San Francisco Actor's Workshop. With these inspiring individuals, the House of Spielberg continues to make its mark in the entertainment industry.
